Nelson Mandela’s Cape Town house is becoming a museum. Today Mandela gave Cape Town South Africa his home to be used as a museum!

Jakes Gerwel, chairman of one of Mandela’s foundations, said the house is the “only home outside of prison in the Western Cape.”

Mandela reportedly attended today’s gifting event, but sadly was frail and didn’t speak.

The dedication of the house museum also included the wonderful news that nearly $6 million had been added to Mandela’s scholarship fund for young Africans.
