Clay Aiken SPAMALOT Return!

From baby to Broadway, Clay Aiken is returning to Broadway in Spamalot! Aiken returns to Spamalot this September!
Aiken returns to the role as Sir Robin that he last played earlier this year for a three and 1/2 month gig.
This time, Aiken has signed on for the Spamalot role from September 19 til January 4, 2009. That’s great news to Aiken Spamalot fans, and of course sad news to Aiken fans hoping for a Christmas tour.
Aiken said the following in a statement late Tuesday:
“Since leaving Spamlot in May, jokes have just not been funny. Food has lost its taste. The grass is no longer green—the sky no longer blue. And babies WON’T stop crying!! I’m so excited about coming back to the funniest show in the world!”
Finally, for our LALATE Clay Aiken fans, stay tuned for the coming weeks. We a big surprise coming to LALATE to celebrate LALATE’S 2nd year starting August 22.

Clay, you ought to be a singer-actor combo ala Danny Kaye! You definitely can sing and act!!! Maybe it’s time for me to spend Christmas time in NY this year!!! Break another leg, Clay!!! You did it the first time!!!

Fabulous news Clay. You blew the roof off the Shubert Theatre last 4 month run, and you’ll do it again. Your closing night was amazing. There has never been such a crowd in Subert Alley waiting to see you when you came out the stage door, like you did every night to sign playbills, etc. However, one of your greatest moments in my mind, ws when you found out you couldn’t get out the stage door because of the crowd, you went out a window and climbed on the roof to greet everyone, thank us and say goodby. That’s the Clay Aiken we know and love.

The rumor here in NYC is that the reason Clay is coming back is because they are interested in having him play Sir Robin in the upcoming movie and want to see him again in the roll before a final decision. It is his role if all goes well.

Spamalot with Clay Aiken is hysterical! Loved it last time he was in it. Wish I could see it again.
Break a leg Clay! Congrats!
on August 14th, 2008 at 11:55 am
Sasha, I hope the rumor is right! If he plays SR in the movie, I definitely would be able to see it! Break all legs, Clay!!!
on August 14th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
lolol sienna…if Clay ‘breaks all his legs’…the cast may think that’s hilarious and write it into the script…lolol ( I know, it’s just an ‘expression’…just having fun).
You go, Clay…follow your heart…you’re terrific in everything you do…
Thanks again, lalate…you’re the best!

Not only is Clay great as Sir Robin, but his castmates are great too. And David Hibbard is coming back as Patsy at the same time too. Should be a great show for sure.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a movie with Clay as Sir Robin! I can’t make it to NY but I can see the movie, then BUY the movie!!

Clay is wonderful in anything he attempts. I’m very excited for him. He reminds my mom and me more of a Dean Martin than Danny Kaye. Attractive, wonderful singer and pretty darn good comedian . Love to see him get a weekly variety show. He’s perfect.

Absolutely Thrilled with Clay’s return to his “roles” in Spamalot. He was EXCELLENT as each character, guard, monk and Sir Robin. Everyone should make every effort to see it while he is appearing, you truly will not be disappointed. This is one talented man!!!!
on August 16th, 2008 at 1:09 am
WOW! I am so happy that they might just consider Clay for the movie part . THIS IS HUGE! It can only happen with the support of his fans. I am praying that fans will be supporting him in this role and will if they can afford it , attend the play !!

What great news. Clay said he loved the Spamalot “family” and he sure got a lot of respect from those in the business. Am going to NYC if I have to walk.
