Steve Harvey Bernie Mac Tribute!

Steve Harvey’s Morning Show did a tribute today to the great Bernie Mac. Mac and Harvey were part of the Kings of Comedy Tour along with DL Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer. Steve Harvey’s Morning Show tribute follows a tearful audio interview by Steve with CNN News this weekend.
Mac and Harvey toured with the Kings for 4 years. They were planning a 10-year major tour deal but Mac’s health wasn’t good enough for it.
“I am just numb,” Harvey said to CNN “B Mac killed every night. Every night! He would close the show. He was the go-to guy. At the end, he’d take off his handkerchief, wipe the sweat off his brow, throw it in the audience and open his arms wide open. That is the image I’ll always remember.”
LALATE has a simple question - why does God always take our greatest people from us?
Steve Harvey hasn’t posted the audio from the Steve Harvey Morning Show yet on his website (8 am PST). But it should be up within a few hours - click here for that (under the Best of Steve Harvey).
Below is the CNN interview tribute of Steve Harvey on our greatly missed Bernie Mac.

First of all, I want to say that Bernic Mac was one of the best comedians to ever grace a stage. He will be greatly missed. He has worked hard and now he can rest. My prayers are with you Mac Family, look to God to comfort and fill the voids left by the passing of your husband, your father, and your grandfather! May God Bless and keep you. And to you Lalate always remember nothing happens in this world unless God allows it, just trust him in knowing that he has everything in control. I appreciate you allowing us the opportunity to pay our respects to such a “Great Man”, wonderful role model for the young people of today. He showed how we should act once God blesses us with wealth, he showed us how we should take care of our families. Thank you Bernie Mac, you will always be in our hearts forever…RIP!

I love Bernie Mac. The first time they said he was dead I could not believe it and certainly not the second time either. Unfortunately the second time was true. I am in ALabama and his show comes on twice everynight 11pm and 1 am, I will not go to bed until I have seen both. He was so naturally funny. He has left a great void in all of our hearts. The day he died I walked around with a knot in my throat and finally had to retreat to my car and let it go. Mrs. Mac know that your husband was loved by many, I trully believe by not only AA but people all around of every color and some other countries. I know it was a shock but God apparently needed him more. He was only on loan until God prepared a place and job for him. Now he can do what is much required of him and watch over the three of you. It hurts now, but the bible says weeping endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning. Your morning will come soon just hold on I promise you. I made through two deaths it was dark but the light eventually came through, and it will for you too.

To the ‘Mac Family, What can one say about the ‘Mac Man that has not already been said. But if allowed I would like to add a few more things to what has already been said. When I heard the news I just couldn’t believe it. You would have thought Bernie was a family member of mine. But to me, that is what he felt like. I see him now with that big bright shining smile he had that seem to light up the skies. I hear his jokes in my mind and laugh quietly to myself. But I guess ‘God’ had bigger plans for Bernie. He allowed him to make the world laugh for a while, Produce a daughter, have a solid marriage and the best miracle of all to have a grandbaby. Oh how a blessing that was. But he wasn’t able to do it all without you his ‘Wife’.How proud you must feel even thru the sorrow. Just know how well loved Bernie was and still is, and please continue to make his laughter heard thru you his daughter and grandbaby. In closing I would like to say again. Hartford Connecticut loved and still loves Bernie’ A.K.A ‘ Mac Man’
