Many sites are using pictures of the 2007 Miss California winner (some even using Miss California 2006) as the picture of Nicole Johnson (who looks nothing like neither).

Of course, LALATE has found the correct pictures of Johnson. (It’s a hard job searching through tons of beauty queen photos.)

In 2007, Nicole Johnson, Miss Westlake Village finished runner up to Miss California USA, Meagan Tandy (Miss Inland Empire). Nicole is far left in the picture above.

Johnson represented Westlake Village, a community just north of Los Angeles, a town nowhere near Baltimore. Wonder how she met Phelps?

Johnson is very beautiful. Phelps won’t comment on who he’s dating. Johnson won’t admit the two are dating but does admit they are “very good friends”.

When asked about Johnson, Phelps tells People “I never said I have a girlfriend, and I never said I don’t have a girlfriend,” said Phelps. “My public and private life are separate. I keep my private life to myself.”

That won’t last for long.

Johnson says of Phelps “we’re good friends” but wouldn’t confirm they are dating.

Earlier this week, LALATE broke you snaps of Phelps for his role on the upcoming episode of HBO’s Entourage. His appearance on Oprah’s 23rd season premiere with 150 other Olympic medalists is reportedly causing an unprecedented run on Oprah tickets.

Phelps is scheduled for a series of TV appearances in early September including the VMAs and SNL’s season opener.

OH KERMIE-E-E! The Muppet Show is returning to TV! A new Muppet Show is coming to television with new force Jason Segel, speculates reports.

The Jim Henson Muppets were last on television 27 years ago. And how old is Segel? 28 years old.

Segel is reportedly very popular among Muppet fans.

A source tells British press: “Jason is a massive Muppets fan and is seen as the man to finally bring The Muppet Show back to TV. It will obviously have all its old fans but Jason’s comedy is hugely popular with youngsters so it will open it up to a whole new audience.”

The original series ran from 1976 to 1981. Thereafter, several feature films were released.

Segel is currently writing the new movie for the Muppets in which they reunite for one more musical to save their studio.

The Isle of Youth is off of Cuba. 1:30 PST Saturday research out of Cuba is reporting the following warning to residents (giving earlier today).

The whole of the western half of Cuba must continue paying maximum attention to the evolution and future trajectory of Hurricane Gustav. The area of immediate danger ranges from Pinar del Río province to the two Havana provinces, including the Isle of Youth.

Given that it is a large hurricane in the vicinity of Cuba, Gustav’s area of influence will be extensive, so that attention needs to be focused on a wide area, not at one fixed point. Its current movement will affect Cuba during all of today and into the early hours of Sunday morning.

Of greatest concern for the Isle of Youth - flooding.

The rainfall will be heavy and locally intense. There will be heavy seas and flooding in low-lying areas of the southern coast from Las Tunas to Cienfuegos, that will extend during the morning to from Matanzas to Pinar del Río, as well as the Isle of Youth.

Hurricane force winds are currently hitting the Isle of Youth. The Isle will feel Gustav’s affect Saturday through Sunday.

More recently, just within the last few hours, NHC has issued the following warning for residents of the Isle of Youth that describes Gustav now on Saturday as upgraded to Category 4:

COMPLETED.”

Ashley Ellerin died while dating Ashton Kutcher. Now DNA has found the murder of Ashley Ellerin. Pictures research of Ashley Ellerin reveals what many of you are discovering this morning - there aren’t any photos of Ashley online.

Kutcher was dating Ellerin at the time of her death in 2001. One night Ellerin was found dead.

Michael Gargiulo is currently in reported custody since June for alleged attempted murder of a woman (not Ellerin). Reportedly DNA tests have linked him to Ellerin’s death.

Representatives for Gargiulo say he has not been charged in Ellerin’s death.

Hurricane Gustav’s projected path is Cuba, then near New Orleans. LALATE has Gustav’s projected path near New Orleans details, map, and time schedule.

The path of Gustav is south of Cuba currently Saturday 12 noon PST. Gustav is now the strongest storm of 2008 in the Atlantic, a deadly category 4.

Some predictions initially reported by LALATE predicted Gustav heading into the Gulf by late Saturday early Sunday. That time schedule is now being reconfirmed today as correct.

Where will it hit is still undetermined with Mississippi to Texas as in the possible projected path for Gustav. Some believe it will touch land in the central coast of Louisiana, not New Orleans.

Here is the latest update from the NHC on Gustav. NHC explains the proximity of Gustav to Cuba and projected path over the Atlantic:

NHC then advises that the Southern Gulf is getting Gustav Sunday night, the Northern Gulf getting Gustav on Sunday. That is right on track to what LALATE has been advising readers of Gustav’s projected path.

“GUSTAV IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 14 MPH…22 KM/HR…AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. ON THIS TRACK…THE CENTER OF GUSTAV WILL PASS OVER WESTERN PORTIONS OF CUBA TODAY AND TONIGHT…THEN EMERGE OVER THE SOUTHERN GULF OF MEXICO EARLY ON SUNDAY…AND REACH THE NORTHERN GULF BY MONDAY MORNING.”

Hurricane Gustav is heading for New Orleans as CATEGORY 4! New Orleans is under evacuation! LALATE has New Orleans Hurricane Gustav evacuations details right now.

New Orleans residents are under evacuation at 11 am PST Saturday as Hurricane Gustav has increased to the deadly Category 4 classification and is heading straight for New Orleans.

LALATE first broke Hurricane Gustav, when it was only a tropical storm, and advised readers of warnings from the NHC that Gustav could touch the Gulf region by Sunday morning, Saturday evening. Now those predictions, sadly, are coming true.

The bus terminal line in New Orleans’s Union Passenger Terminal has a line wait over a mile long. Help is on hand passing out water in the blistering sun.

As of this LALATE report, there is no New Orleans mandatory evacuation. But youth and elderly without transportation are being evacuated today on buses pursuant to a state contract. That contract has allocated a reported 700 buses for the effort.

If you are taking Interstate 55 north, traffic is heavy but reportedly not horrible.

One of the big concerns - ATMs. Reportedly, they are running out of cash as people stock up for Hurricane Gustav prior to their evacuation.
Law enforcement is not waiting for mandatory evacuations. They are currently going up and down the streets advising residents where to evacuate to in advance of Gustav.

Of note - the Superdome will not be a backup plan like with Katrina. It’s not going to be opened.

Expected for Sunday:
1. All interstate traffic lanes be converted to north bound traffic to assist evacuations.
2. Mandatory Evacuations
3. Curfews
