Clay Aiken Charts

WOW! Two months after the release of his album “On My Way Here”, Clay Aiken this week is still beating newcomers Miley Cyrus with “7 Things” and Lil Wayne with “Lollipop” on AOL Music Charts. In fact, Clay Aiken is ranked number 1!
LALATE TV back in May delivered “eLATED for Clay Aiken”, a television broadcast in which LALATE predicted “On May Way Here” to be a major hit.
With little promotion compared to Cyrus (on the front of Billboard this week), and others like Rihanna also on the chart, Aiken this week tops AOL with the most watched music video for “On My Way Here”. In fact of the top 5 most watched videos on AOL, 4 out of 5 are Clay Aiken. Unbelievable!
Meantime, the separation of the news industry’s reporting of Aiken since May 2008 has caused huge chatter among Aiken fans. Most news websites that have been loosing readers while repeating tabloid reports of Aiken and Jaymes Foster.
Few like LALATE have reported on Aiken’s music news including chart performance. And now, for LALATE Clay Aiken fans, LALATE has a huge surprise.
Tonight, LALATE has become the top 5,000 most trafficated
website online! …. in less than 9 months.
That official announcement shortly.

LALATE - I think Clay Aiken fans love you because you DON’T stoop to the low life media meanderings of other ‘news’ sites.
I, for one, appreciate your focusing solely on Clay’s music and for the great and positive things you have to say about him.
If ALL internet media sites were like yours, perhaps they’d see a bit more traffic as well.
It’s always a pleasure to read here - keep up the good work!

The Claymates are spamming it. I wish it were true that he is doing this well but I’m not buying it. What the fans don’t realize is that if they are the one’s pushing his numbers up it has no effect on Clay or his sales. It’s a fantasy.

I would love it if Clay’s fans could get all his music to #1 BUT we are not his only fans. This is an awesome album and all the songs should be heard.

Ah Jill. You are so knowledgeable. Hee. I think all fans of artists listen to the artist’s songs. It would be kind of odd if they didn’t. Now that you mention it, I’ve been busy and haven’t listened to AOL sessions for over a week. On my way there to listen and to watch. .
on July 8th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
I’m with you, myway. Who would listen to rap but rap fans, to hip hop, but hip hoppers, to rock but rock fans!!!
Of course, if the music is right, I listen, whether it’s Clay Aiken or America! I’m sure other fans do, too!
on July 8th, 2008 at 8:23 pm
Thank you LALATE. I’ll give Clay’s songs a listen. Your site is a breath of fresh air.

I’ve watched those videos, and I’ve seen the man live. Let me tell you, he wasn’t at the top of his game when those performances were taped. Top of his game is on stage, where he can feed off the energy of his audience. Catch him on tour when he’s had time to live the music for a bit, and then when you listen to the CD at home you can relive all the nuances and depth he brings to each song. It’s amazing! THANKS LALATE for shining your light on the better things around us instead of the dirt and trash!
on July 8th, 2008 at 8:35 pm
LALATE, Do you think you could find out for us Clay fans when he’ll be in concert soon or maybe he has a big TV show coming soon. When Clay is quiet like this he usually has a very big surprise for us. Can not wait. Thanks for your wonderful coverage.
on July 8th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
to Jill: I seriously don’t think there are enough die-hard Claymates out there anymore to “spam” stuff. Clay’s finished 2nd or 3rd or lower too often in recent times on polls etc. to think “we’d” allow that, if we had those kinds of numbers or that kind of power. Maybe there’s actually curiosity, and people are realizing he’s still here all these years later for good reason!
on July 8th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Well Jill,
Yes, his fans are watching the video’s ALOT! It’s all we have of Clay right now. He’s currently taking a break for the summer after not having a break since last OCT 07.
We’ve been very spoiled by having Clay around all the time in some form or another. So we are enjoying what we have of his live performances of some of the songs on his wonderful new cd.
Thanks LALATE for staying so postitive about a decent human being with an amazing voice.

We all are entitled to our own opinion and I respect that. However, Clay Aiken has litttle promotion when his CD was released. Who else would promote him, but his fans and other people who like his music, by word of mouthand on line. I like other artists, too, but they don’t need me to promote them, just like I do Clay. They have enough promotion from their labels. I’m sure fans of other artists do the same. How else would Chris Brown be #2 on AOL Music if his fans don’t listen.

Love this site…a lot. The Clay coverage has been awesome. I love his new CD…there’s something for everyone on it and the production is fantastic. Keep up the great work on reporting newsworthy stuff instead of trash.

Fans of artists listen to their music. If fans keep Clay on the AOL Charts, good for them. I discover new artists by checking out songs on sites like AOL and Itunes. I assume others do the same. Someone might discover Clay on AOL, who would not have otherwise

Nice to see a site who covers whats important and not trashy news.

This site is a welcome change from sensational and less than accurate news sites. Keep up the good work!

I am assuming that fans of all artists stream their music on AOL. I love Clay `s new CD On MY Way Here. I have not streamed AOL much but if it would help for other people to be able to hear this incredible music sign me up!
This site rocks!

I’m a fan living outside the U.S. who could not even view the AOL sessions however much I want to. And there are many of us who just make do with what Clay songs we can purchase (not always easy to acquire like other topcharters) or online stuff we can have access to since we don’t get to see or hear of him as much. Perhaps the internet activities of his American fanbase do not always push up his sales, but it certainly makes this international fan happy that if Clay Aiken continues to have more support and promotion (inflated or not), then it’s all the more likely that we who are outside the States can get to enjoy his music, at the very least through the internet. I may not be making a lot of sense but i do appreciate Lalate.com for all the good online press about Clay. Thanks!

What a dumb thing to say. Of course his fans are listening. All artists are happy when their fans pay attention. Nobody is stopping the fans of any other artist from listening to their favorite artists.
on July 9th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
I understand you perfectly, EB. My sentiment exactly.
While he is wildly famous, why Clay Aiken is not internationally promoted, I can’t fathom!!! OMWH is doing very well in some Asian countries. And they play his songs, too!!!
In response to your post, Atilla, I agree with you, that was a no-brainer comment up there. Clay fans do the best they can because he is not very well promoted here or anywhere!

First, I must compliment lalate on presenting real news and not gossip. It is so refreshing to visit a web site where I have no fear of being offended.
My second comment, of course, relates to Clay and his music. He is a gifted singer and a superb live entertainer and actor as demonstrated in his recent appearance in “Spamalot” on Broadway. He has a tremendous sense of humor which is usually aimed at himself. Anyone who has not experienced his live performance has truly missed a phenomenal concert that is 100% FUN from start to finish.
As far as his chart standing is concerned, I believe the Internet has been able to give him air play, which he has not received from radio and which has not been promoted by his record label. Although he is named frequently among the most searched names on the web, his music is only just now getting exposure on web sites such as this one.
During five years, Clay has recorded albums as dictated by his record label. ON MY WAY HERE is the first CD that contains songs that Clay has been able to select original songs for himself with attention to their lyrics and their stories about meaningful life experiences. The album also contains lyrics that, for the first time, Clay has written himself (Lover All Alone).
Yes, his fans continue to promote him in every way possible. This is what fans do for anyone they appreciate. Yes, his music is now available on the Internet, a media which, I personally believe, will soon replace radio as we know it. Yes, he is now being featured on web sites such as lalate, where he is not subjected to gossip. For the first time, people are being introduced to Clay as the person and singer he is.
I attribute his five-year-long “sudden fame” to these reasons rather than to inflated ratings produced by his fans.
Thanks again, lalate, for a web site for thinking people! May your rankings continue to rise.

Thanks Lalate, I am also a international fan of Clay`s and appreciate the excellent coverage of him. He is amazing, never hear him here.
on July 9th, 2008 at 8:55 pm
I love Lalate. You do great reporting in a non-tabloid way. I buy Clay’s CD’s and love the AOL videos. Of course I watch them a lot cause I love Clay. The bashers always have to say something when Clay does well–which of course is ALWAYS! OMWH is really special.
on July 10th, 2008 at 2:08 am
To EB & May, I’m also a fan not in the US and unable to view the AOL sessions. But i am able to view the him when he’s in the Top11. So thanks you guys for putting him there so i’m able to view the video.

Thank you Lalate for leaving the trash in the garbage bag where it belongs. Thank you for reporting the good news. Clay’s album is phenomenal. He put his heart and soul into it.
To “Jill” way up above: Nobody is spamming anybody or anything. If Clay fans had the kind of power you allude to, don’t you think we would use it to make sure every child in this ungrateful world was taken care of???
on July 17th, 2008 at 12:36 am
Thanks LaLate, you’re getting to be my favorite site. Thank you for promoting true talent. Its really refreshing..
on July 21st, 2008 at 12:03 am
I love LaLate because you don’t mess around with tabloid trash, you’re way too classy, and have journalistic integrity. I love Clay for so many reasons; I can’t even count them all. Thanks La Late for all you do. Definite “CLASS ACT”!
on July 30th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
I love LaLate because you are smart. You don’t just report unproven news. You seem to be quite fair and balanced. Your site is easy to navigate and is full of interesting things. LaLate will be around for years providing good news for all of us. Thanks!
