Madonna Popularity
Madonna is set to break her own record this year for a touring female singer, with ticket sales rumored to be in excess of 900,000 tickets. But has Madonna’s online popularity slowly going to hell? Just take a look at comments across news sites and blogs reacting to Madonna this week. It’s not a pretty picture.
A new report by TMZ claims (as other sites have hinted previously) that Madonna and Guy Ritchie are already separated. Whether that story is correct or not, the reaction of readers to Madonna is what’s newsworthy. If Madonna seemed to have her finger on the pulse of online popularity, she wouldn’t want to read this comments. Comments to that article this morning include the following :
- “She is disgusting and truthfully she has lost her fan base yaers ago.”
- “If anything, she is the one who is stupid. No one gives a d-mn about HER marriage, or her ability to sell more concert tickets”
- “Seriously, who can afford concert tickets these days?? …. Yeah, she might look good for her age, but she’s still too old for this stuff and not worth the expense”
- “If Madonna thinks this will make people want to go see her concert, she is sadly mistaken. If anything, it would turn them away. Who wants to see a concert where the performer cares absolutely nothing about their fans being betrayed; all they care about is money!”
