Rockin with the GOAT
NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Watch “Rockin’ with the G.O.A.T.”, the new single from LL Cool J’s upcoming album Exit 13. “Rockin with GOAT” is produced by DJ Scratch. The album drops August 5.
If you don’t know, LL was Def Jam’s first signee in 1984. He’s been with that label now for more than 20 years, done 30 films, and is producing a new drama from CBS.
LL explains that his fan base in music has slipped because of his last album and that he wants to bring that back. “I plan to deliver some great material this year, and I think it’s important that people understand my level of passion for “Exit 13.” My music suffered a bit on my last two or three records because I made my decisions as an actor and businessman first.”
When asked which label he will sign with after Def Jam, LL says “I’m not looking for a record deal right now because I’m not looking past this project. “Exit 13″ is too important to start thinking about where I want to go label-wise. I want to give people the best record I possibly can, service this project completely and tour. I’ll deal with that afterward.”
Aka, wait to see if it’s a hit, and then ink the best deal.
This is LL’s 13th album with Def Jam, and hence the title Exit 13. Watch below the music video for Goat:
