From Los Angeles food bloggers, to mere patrons posting on LA food messageboards and travel sites, many reviews are ATROCIOUS … and leave a bad taste in your mouth too.

How bad are the comments so far online? Here is for you what some Los Angeles eaters are saying about Beso.
Says LA Eater:
“First of all, no idea where everyone gets Tex-Mex. Was it People? Us Weekly? The PR pushing to those magazines has no idea what they’re doing, that’s for sure. There’s NOTHING, I repeat, nothing tex-mex or barely even Mexican at the place. The food we found tolerable ended up being direct rip-offs from Todd English’s other restaurants (skirt steak tacos, artichoke guacamole, steak with grilled romain). The paying public shouldn’t be subjected to other dishes—flavorless mushy “drunken shrimp” with tequila after burn”.

Another reviewer also posting on the CNET-owned food website Chowhound wrote the following:

“The truly awful meal I just at at Beso, the new hot spot restaurant in Hollywood. I thought you should all be warned. (Just got home ten minutes ago, so the experience and that taste I can’t get out of my mouth are still fresh.)”

However, a poster on Savorycities enjoyed the spot without much explanation why, saying only “the place is gorgous, the ambiance is perfect, its classy with an edge. the tuna tar tacos were my favorite.”

On LA Citysearch, currently there are 13 reviews. 3 are good, 10 are horrible!

OUCH!

On Citysearch, most complaints are about the food, most compliments about the decore, and worse criticism universally for … the $10 valet parking!

And the worse comment? “ Too much Eva Longoria, not enough Todd English.“
