I’m just so sickened by people that don’t even amount to a fraction of the wonder of Marilyn Monroe that attempt to recreate her.
Lohan appears in a new spread for NY Magazine that recreates Monroe’s famous The Last Sitting photoshoot that I really don’t care for.
Update … Nevertheless, the shoot is a major hit. In just hours, this LALATE story has gotten nearly 200 votes on several online communities, it’s the number one result on Google for this spread, and several thousands of you have read this story in … just a few hours! Lohan is on fire!
Britney Spears pictured above tried the same for a wonderful Monroe spread for Esquire magazine several years back. But Spears clearly didn’t disguise her own persona, unlike Lohan.

I dont get this fascination with MM. What is she famous for? Being a whore? She slept with JFK, mobsters and athletes. She was an alcoholic and a drug addict. She was not a good actor or singer. Cody, if you get off on those pics of Lindsay then you really need to get out and see the real hot girls of today. Jessica Alba is a good one, definately one of the top ones. Like Carly said (which I 100% agree with), she has way too many freckles all over her body that just doesn’t work with her “sexy” shots. If she wants to be like MM then she needs to go find Monica Lewinsky and ask where to go to see Clinton. She started out as a pretty good actor when she was young (The Parent Trap) I’ll give you that…but once she turned 17 or so it’s been a downhill run. Always in and out of the hospital, in and out of rehab, chasing people in her car, always out overpartying when she knows she’s working on a movie for the next couple months, etc.

LL is a very cute girl but MM was a beautiful woman. Niether one could act well and both have-had drug problems. As far as the freckles go I think they are kinda sexy. It’s a red head thing and I dig red heads. I actuallt think she has a lot of guts for not hiding them with makeup like all the others.
BTW: telling everyone about how hot your girlfriend is, is really pathetic. I am married to a beautiful woman just for the record but I don’t go around telling everyone how hot she is, it’s really crass.

I was so upset when I heard about this shoot. Blondes don’t have freckles for a reason. I’m also just sick of celebrities in general tryin to do the marilyn thing, paris hilton, madonna..shall I go on?? She was called the sexiest woman in the world for a reason. One of a kind you can’t recreate her. I’ve read a lot of books on marilyn monroe, have most of her movies, and have all her songs. I happen to think she was quite a good actress with a sexy voice that matched. She also had a really tragic life considering she never knew who her real father was, was given to an orphanage, molested, went through six divorces, bi polar, no respect, taken advantage of by her agent (not in a sexual way). She was actually also quite smart as quoted “arthur miller (the famous playwright) wouldn’t have married me if I was just a dumb blonde”. Maybe if people took the time to do some research on marilyn they wouldn’t make such terrible assumptions about her. I so sick of people dissing on her because the majority have no idea of what they’re talking about. If you happen to and you still don’t like her, that’s your opinion and I’ll respect it if you respect mine. I’m not forcing you to think like me. I’m not gonna say that I’m more attractive than lindsey lohan because I have a terrible self esteem (don’t think I look too good anyways) and it’s all about personal taste if your judging just from looks and not from personality. All I can say is that personally I think she looks terrible..she is one of the girls that only looks good with red hair. Just gotta say how can most of you say either is a no talented worthless waste? can you put on a shoot like that? can you grab a mic in front of 100,000 people and sing. and at least neither of them took the time to lip sync like Brit did. now thats retarded. but LL went big, MM went big (R.I.P.) Don’t forget the period of time Marilyn Monroe was born and grew up in. Broadly women seemed to have more class than women today. For some reason women think being crude, rude, and obnoxious is sexy. I’m a younger woman and sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong time, because I can’t seem to relate to a lot of girls as friends in my life, because of this paris, lindsay, britney, etc. era. I believe in being very sexy, but sexy is in the way you carry yourself. The small things you do that no other woman does exactly like you. Being alluring with a little secrecy behind a smile, gentle hello, a dollish wink. To me that is what makes a woman sexy and that’s why so many people still find Marilyn so appealing. I love reading about Marilyn and viewing photos, and movies of her. She was/is a doll. I really don’t think Lindsay did the shoot justice nor Britney. Lindsay is a modern beauty in her own way, but Marilyn is a timeless beauty and that’s hard to live up to. I always thought Marilyn had a baby face, but you definitely knew she was a woman. People tell me I have child like features and it used to make me angry, because I wanted to look like a sexy vixen, but I’ve learned to appreciate it, because Marilyn pulled it off, maybe I can too, but of course not like MARILYN. People assume that I’m a lot younger than I am, maybe this will be beneficial as I age. Regardless, I think they should continue to adore Marilyn in the media, but not try to recreate her. It just doesn’t work.

Wow! I can’t believe how mean a lot of you are! She may not be your opinion of a perfect 10, but cut the girl some slack. She certainly doesn’t fall into the “ugly” category, and so what if her breasts aren’t perfect and she has some freckles. Pretend for a sec that she’s your best friend and asked you what you thought of the pics, especially if she was lacking confidence and wanted reassurance that she was a pretty young woman! Just because she isn’t your opinion of perfect doesn’t mean she should be trashed like this!
