The hit Fox drama 24 won’t be back unfortunately until 2009.

Eight episodes had been filmed before the writers’ strike. The network wanted to air a full season, week by week, and start last month, but that’s not happening now.

Fox said yesterday that instead the show will begin up again January 2009 and run week by week thereafter. Creator Joel Surnow is also now leaving as one of the executive producers.
