T.I. Clifford Harris Arrested on Federal Weapons Charges!
Grammy-winning rapper T.I. was arrested this weekend, preventing him from taking two awards at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. He was arrest by federal officials that said he had paid his bodyguard to buy machine guns and silencers for him, according to AP.
T.I. was taken into custody in a shopping center earlier that day where feds said he planned to pick up machine guns and silencers he had his bodyguard buy for him.
Clifford Harris, T.I.’s real name, allegedly arranged the deals because his bodyguard is a convicted felon. It’s against federal law for a convicted felon to have another person get firearms on their behalf.
In May 2006, T.I.’s best friend, Philant Johnson, was killed and three others were injured in a gun shootout after a post-performance party in Cincinnati.
