Marion Jones Lied. What’s next for Barry Bonds?

Posted on October 5th, 2007 in Celebrities, Entertainment by lalate

It was all lies for Marion Jones. The three-time Olympic gold medalist has now plead guilty to lying to federal investigators admitting she had lied to us all. Jones was a steroid user and had lied about it for years. But in today’s news reports, another name came up: Barry Bonds.

News reports today say the flaxseed oil Jones took was steroids. One news source said the following:

“She was given actually was ”the clear” – a performance-enhancing drug linked to BALCO, the lab at the center of the steroids scandal in professional sports. Home run king Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants also has been linked to the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative, and was one of more than two dozen athletes who testified before a federal grand jury in 2003.

“Bonds denied ever knowingly taking performance-enhancing drugs, saying he believed a clear substance and a cream, given to him by his trainer, were flaxseed oil and an arthritis balm.”

It took many years to prove Jones lied. Now the truth is out.

She may have admitted to doping, but I don’t think they should strip her of her medals. After all, she still had to put in phenomenal amounts of effort to achieve that medal…
